Dull
Day/New Car
01/21/03
Winter. Blah. Bleh. Uugh. (I'm
getting spell check errors on those words, lol.) I wish it were spring
already. I can feel the winter blues creeping in. I feel so sad and down.
It's not too cold today, low 50's, but it's nasty and rainy, overcast. How
depressing. I wish I could cheer up. If it were just cold, I could go
shopping or something, but I don't like to go out much in the rain. Here's
some good news... I finally got a new car! :) It's a 1996 Mitsubishi
Eclipse RS. Here is it (click to enlarge picture.)
Get this! I ordered a Masonic tag and since the Mason symbol takes up part
of the tag, you only get to choose 3 to 4 letters/numbers for your
personalized plate. You get three choices. I chose - 1."HAHA" 2."C YA"
and 3."HEX" lol. Well, the State of Tennessee wrote me back and saying
"Your first choice, HEX, has been approved. Well, HEX wasn't my first
choice, and I know I filled the application out correctly, so it was their
mistake, but I guess it's still cool. I was just afraid of offending
Masons by driving around with THEIR symbol on my car with the word HEX
right next to it. Also, what would Mama think?? So, I wasn't sure about
getting "HEX" on the car, but that is what I will have as of March 23rd,
when it will be available for pick-up at the courthouse. Then I'll
definitely put up new pics of the car.

I need to take some new pictures of it with a nice
background with me
standing beside it with my new hair-do. (My hair is wavy and highlighted
blond now.)
(Actually, I've changed the picture and the one above IS the new picture.) It's the prettiest car I've ever owned, thanks to my dear husband Ron.
I'll be getting chrome wheels for it, and some kind of rear light cover
that is clear and shiny. I don't know what they're called but they're
really pretty. It's got a moon roof and killer speakers. Ron put some of
those neon purple windshield washer lights on it, so it looks like two
purple eyes coming out of the hood. It drives so
smooth. It's a five-speed. I had originally wanted an automatic, just
because I like to do a lot of things, like put on make-up and play with
the radio while I'm driving. But my first two cars were standards, and I
can drive them just fine, as good as anyone else. I thought it was so
pretty when I saw it, that I didn't mind that it was a standard. It was
such a good deal too. The Kelly Blue Book value is $5000, but we only paid
$3500, because the dealer is a Mason like Ron, and you know how that goes.
Anyway, I'm really happy about it. I was driving a 1991 Ford Tempo before
this. This is what the Tempo looks like.

Big difference, huh? It was a great running car. I was not
unhappy with it, but everyone wants a pretty car, and mine was a Tempo.
Hardy har har. With my husband driving around in a 98 Mustang GT that was
so fancy that everyone stared when we rode by. No kidding. He's got wheels
on it that are worth $1000, and he paid $100 just for floor mats. He's got
all the extras on it.

That's his car. Not a picture I found online. It's got
Flowmasters... all this fancy kind of stuff that I don't really
understand. But people just love it. It's cool riding around in it because
everyone stares, and he can beat anyone (except a new Corvette) in a race,
so that's cool too. But it was a real drag for me to be driving a Tempo
when he had such a fancy car. It was like the last remnants of my
previous, trashy life before I met him and became high class (like on
"Pretty Woman" lol.) His car is for sale, if you're interested. I made a
page for it just now while I was thinking about it.
the For Sale page. Nevermind, the car is sold now, but the page is still
there if you want to see the pictures.
Well, I took so long building a web page for him that now
I'm kind of over this particular rambling. Not much else to say. I think
I'll go watch TV now.
