Women's Clothing Petition
As women, we are demanding that the clothing industry make good quality
clothing for us, like they do for MEN - clothes that can be machine washed
and tumble-dried. We also demand that clothing makers stop screwing around
with our clothing sizes in order to flatter the overweight women. If a
pair of pants is a size 6, don't call it a size 4 just so I will buy them
so I can convince myself I am a size 4 instead of a 6. TOMMY HILFIGER has
a very bad habit of doing that. We think that clothing designers and
manufacturers should completely do away with the current way of sizing
pants for women. Not all women are the same height, and we also don't fall
into categories like "short, regular, and tall", if you are even lucky
enough to find a store that offers those options, which most don't. MEN'S
pants and jeans are sized by the waist in inches and the inseam in inches
and women are finally demanding that our clothes be sized the same way.
Why should we have to hem our pants because they were made for a woman who
is 5'9? We shouldn't! Men don't have to! They can buy pants based on their
exact measurements. They don't even have to try them on!
No more hand wash/line dry/lay flat to dry clothing (unless there are
special circumstances such as beading on the blouse or some other damn
good reason.) We are sick and tired of buying cotton and polyester shirts
that have to be hand washed simply because the manufacturer made it
cheaply. We want our clothes to be made with the same quality and care and
men's clothing!
No more 0-13 and 1-15 clothing sizes! We want our pants and jeans to be
sized like men's pants are - by the inseam and the waist measurement!
We're tired of trying on fifty pair of pants only to find ONE pair that
actually FIT!
