Comments About Women's Clothing
Thanks for signing the
petition. Some day we will have enough signatures to be able to send this
to the clothing manufacturers and let them know that we are tired of their
shit. I appreciate you taking the time to sign this.
Here are the comments I have received from people who signed the petition:
Nadia, 13, DE:
We can come up with cars hell even robots why cant we come up up with
clothes that we can slip in the washer like all of them I mean hand
washing
is what they did at the time of the witch trials. please people.
Alice, 21, WA:
I get plenty tired of stores only offering clothing just for teens that
don't care about going half naked and pants that reach just above their
hair line. Add to this shoes with soles made from car tires and saying one
width fits all but doesn't. We used to have clothing made in this country,
and made well, but now it is made in foreign countries and is nothing but
poorly made crap.

I hate clothes shopping. And if in a few years time I have to sift through
100 or so pairs of jeans for ones that fits I may just start making my own
clothes
Lauren Hosie, 15, Australia
What is up with those low rise jeans? All they do is make big bums look
bigger and skinny bums more exposed as they can't keep the pants up!
T-shirts these days are all cutoff at the midriff. Not everyone wants to
flaunt EVERYTHING! My mother never complains about washing "special"
clothes but I am sick of not having anything to wear coz it just sits in
the "special" pile for a month.
Ishtar, 15, Kentucky
I am pretty short at 5'2", and I have to hem every pair of jeans I wear.
It's ridiculous. I agree with your 5'10" theory: I don't know enough girls
that tall to think that the clothing industry is right. Good luck with
your petition!

It sucks that even though I still follow instructions, it still manages to
get ruined!

I need easy in my life, haircuts, clothes, cars. Anything dry cleanable
will not be in my closet. Sissies love to waste time, give me a break.
Thank you. Walk in peace.

To have instructions on feminine clothing, telling the wearer to wash it
only as per instruction, especially when such instructions (or the
clothing itself) are not necessarily applicable to those instructions.
So why not make it far simpler and either print the same instructions for
washing as male clothing or change the way feminine clothing is
manufactured?
Profits are no excuse for poor quality.
Holly, 23, UK
I don't even bother wearing women's clothes anymore. Men's clothes are a
better quality and are not designed to show every inch of a persons figure
as though they weren't wearing any clothes. The cover me up and keep me
warm. They don't need special care and they don't fall apart after one
year of wearing. Women's clothing is designed to reduce them to sex
objects and consumers, for whom clothes are not functional but purely
decorative. I have a life, I want to go outside in the wet and cold, and
get respect from other human beings, not be ogled by men all day long (or
worse, feel like I'm not a worthy human being, if men decide not to ogle
me). Quite frankly, I have had enough. Women, fashion designers, and
clothes manufacturers take note - it doesn't matter what you look like,
its what you do in life that counts, how happy you are, and far too many
women spend their lives thinking about what they look like and feeling
miserable, as a result of social pressure.

This isn't the 1920s!! Women have LIVES NOW!! Damn clothing manufacturers
are sexist!!!
Airi Zombie. 17, FL
I f*cking make my own clothes because all the "Well we use special fabric
so it will be harder on you, even though you spent
$390285903285092385093258 on our shirt" bull. :D

Almost everything should be machine washable. I don't care about it being
tumble dryable as this a waste of energy and is bad for the environment
and it doesn't take much time to hang your clothing on a line or clothes
horse. But it should be machine washable, and most of it actually is, its
just that lazy and penny pinching manufacturers can't be bothered to test
their garments, so they just stick a hand wash sign on it. I machine wash
nearly all my things, despite the hand wash instruction, but I still feel
that terror that something might have gone wrong before I pull it out the
washing machine, and it is this I resent. If it really is that delicate
that it will dissolve in a washing machine, then fair enough, but don't
lie to me, if you just cant be arsed* to test it then tell me. Just say,
"probably washable, don't know coz haven't tried, so wash at your own
risk" just don't tell me to hand wash unless it really, really does have
to be hand washed, ok?
* "arsed" means "bothered" or "concerned" in UK slang.
Usually used in the negative sense of "can't be arsed." I looked it up for
all you Americans that couldn't be arsed to look it up yourself. Heather

You know, woman are just as important as men, if not better! Why does all
of our clothes have to be washed a certain way when men's clothes are made
of the same stuff as ours!!!! What's up with that!!!! You clothing-makers
whatever are crazy!!!!
Crystal Castillo, 16, Arizona
It's total bullcrap and a waste of my time.
April, 19, Jackson, MS
I totally agree with you. I thought I was the only person that noticed
that detail about women's clothing. I'm glad someone else feels that way.
They should make clothes that are easier to care for.

"Guess what? I ended up getting low rise jeans and of course, they look
great on me, but I'm skinny. What about all the normal sized or heavy
women? It won't look great on the rest of you, so don't try it." ....wow.
that was fucking rude don't you think?? (Hmm, yeah,
I guess it was. Thanks for pointing that out. Heather)
Emlyn, 13, MN
I think its so stupid now that America is turning obese with all this
fast food and then fucking clothes are made for people who don't weigh
anything. for my age I'm tall and normal sized, I'm 5'7 and a half and I
have no idea what I weigh since I gave it up months ago and when I go
around in the Juniors department at stores I see all this large stuff that
looks like its a small. my only message to these shit heads in clothing
companies is MAKE LARGES LARGE, MAKE SMALLS SMALL MAKE MEDIUMS MEDIUM.
G0DDAMN IT I WANT TO BE ABLE TO WEAR CLOTHES AND NOT GET A EXTRA LARGE
WHEN I JUST NEED A MEDIUM. GOT IT???

I am totally with you on this one! I hate the way they make women's
clothing, all tiny and tight and uncomfortable... I mean, come on! The
clothing that is nice-looking is about 90% of the time uncomfortable as
hell and itchy, or so tight you can't breathe correctly, and I'm thin! I
weigh 125 and I'm 5'7 and even the pants are too long for me! Also, I hate
how pants now that are "in" have barely any hip or ass room! I have good
size hips and a bubble butt and the pants that are the right length for
me, I cant even get on because I cant seem to get them over my ass! And
don't even get me started on washing! I gave up doing that a long time
ago, I had better things to do...stupid clothes, WHY CANT WE ALL JUST WEAR
NOTHING! AND IN THE WINTER WEAR COMFY PJ'S AND THAT'S ALL!? I love pj's....*sigh*
there is my opinion, hope you like it :) by the way, I also hate women's
"pretty panties" I love the way they look, but its too much just to wash
them properly because they are so delicate, and I hate when they are the
kind that have the tiny holes in them so you can see your butt a little,
does anyone ever notice you cant walk anywhere without getting "pinched"
down below! UNCOMFY!
Anonymous, 16, England
Gods, you're so right with the trousers thing! I usually end up having to
buy men's because I don't have the time to go through 30 pairs of jeans
just to find some that fit!
And also, manufacturers should work on designing clothes that look good,
without showing everything. Also the whole 'fashion' concept is sooo way
off. So many people spend money they don't have or could use in better
ways just to keep themselves in the 'in' crowd.
