Faye's potato soup

8 to 10 red potatoes peeled and cut
½ -1 cup of ham/bacon/whatever meat you like best
1 turnip peeled and diced
Water
Milk to taste
Garlic powder, salt, pepper to taste
Cheese for garnish

Put the potatoes, turnips, meat, and powdered ingredients and water (just to cover other ingrediants) in pot to boil till potatoes and turnips are cooked. Add milk and cook for ten to fifteen minutes. Dish up add cheese and enjoy.
