Sorry about the flash. The museum is very dark. I think the plaque says,
"Original beam from Salem's witch dungeon which is located at 4 Federal
St. This beam was discovered by Carlton C. Lutts on May 8, 1956. On loan
from his wife, Mrs. Carlton G. Lutts."
This beam, along with several others, was found when the phone company
was being built in 1956. The beams were used in the construction of the
old jail. It's the only original jail artifact that the museum has in it's possession.
