Re: Help! meditation work

I can say don't go by what your supposed to feel when you do something. Everyone is different and experience meditation differently. Sounds like you are able to visualize very clearly. As long as your comfortable and can control the journey I would say keep going with it. It's hard to change what yo...

Re: What makes a spell a good spell?

I listen to Ariel's Witch's Primer podcast. It's a great learning tool and is set up to be non-denominal craft practice.

Re: Witchcraft Handicap

@Ula: I agree. I have never been even tempted to use a wand. I just don't feel like its meant for me. As for the Athame, it just feels right. I just prefer the Censer, Goblet (glass), Athame, and salt basic set up... Not saying that I dislike the other, but a wand just makes me feel like I'm trying...

I have never felt drawn to use a wand and don't have any. I just use an athame.

Re: Witchcraft Handicap

I have a young son with autism so I made an alter that is a box. The lid opens and I can lock it. I take my altar down after every use. You could use salt or a rock to represent Earth on your altar instead of a pentagram too.

Re: Non-Believers in "Harm ye None"

Not being Wiccan I don't follow the rede either but you would have to do some pretty bad things to me to get me to do magic against you. The universe tends to take care of most things anyway. I also agree with the statement that most who are new and not sure in their magic yet should avoid putting t...

Re: sacred plants

http://hekate.timerift.net/sacred.htm The yew, cypress, hazel, black poplar and the willow are all sacred to Hekate. The leaves of the black poplar are dark on one side & light on the other, symbolising the boundary between the worlds. Many other herbs and plant were associated with Hekate, inc...

Re: Opinions on Herbalism?

Where do you get your knowledge about herbalism (online, books, etc)? How do you judge the accuracy of the information you find? Where do you get the herbs for your practice? Do you grow them? And if you grow them, are they any special ways that you harvest them? Do you believe a herbs works for it...

I burn an incense I like, turn the lights down and observe my breathing until my I don't even notice it anymore. Sometimes I will visualize some place relaxing.

Re: Teen Fluffies

I used to sit in church and hear members comment on who was really saved or a good Christian. I refuse to do that to other witches by calling them fluffy bunnies. I realize not everyone is on the same path or have the same beliefs as me but what they do doesn't effect me or my work. Just saying.

Re: Christian witches???

When I first left the church I was very bitter for many reasons with the constant hammering on the craft one reason. As I have started doing research I have found Gnosticism to be enlightening. There are lots of books that are not part of popular Christian teaching that are very interesting and don'...

It has antiseptic properties like tea tree oil too. It's good for cuts and a few drops of the oil in water will sanitize a surface.

Re: goddesses under the magnifying glass

I know you have been given lots of names but Hlín (pronounced LEAN) is in the Norse pantheon. She is one of Frigga’s handmaidens. She protects those Frigga sends her to and comforts mourners and kisses away their tears. Hlín’s name, which means “protector” or “shelterer". She sounds like the ki...

Re: How do I teach an Autistic child?

I know this post is old but this may help someone else. My five year old has autism. We are lucky he is somewhat verbal and in a good school. You could do a social story. It's when you outline a topic simply and in steps. They did one for my son when he would be riding the bus and we used it for wee...
