Re: I teach folk magic

Swedish folk magic and modern witchcraft Introduction Swedish folk magic (I'll call it SFM) is the magic that was practiced by the wise people in Sweden in the 1700-1800s. Folk magic usually means that the power resides within the tools and words in the spell, not within the practitioner and the uni...

I teach folk magic

I have studied Swedish folk magic for two years, and the four years before that, I was into wicca-ish things.
Now, I would like to teach other people about my path, about folk magic and witchcraft in a mix.
I have so much easy-written information to share, is anyone interested? :D

Re: Swedish Folk Magic

The witch doesn't neccesarily need to ride on a broom. Pretty much any tool from the home could be used.
Try a fence, goat or your husband!

Re: Swedish Folk Magic

. Interesting post, Fjall, a healing box. Are you able to get information on the 9 types of trees of which the 9 healing knobs on the outside of the box are made, and also of what substance the charcoals are made (and is each charcoal different, or of the same substance)? Thanks for sharing this wi...

Re: Swedish folk magic

This is a "Trollskrin" (Trolls box) or "Spålåda" (Divination box). On the things sticking out from the box (whatever you would call them XD), you would write nine different symbols. The symbols were made from nine different types of wood. In the box you would store nine types of ...

Re: Swedish folk magic

Since we witches get so many warts, I thought it was a good idea to share this ;) Getting rid of warts: Take as many peas as you have warts, then throw them in a spring and say: "There you have your warts for my peas!" Throw salt into an oven, then run outside so you cant hear the fire. Wa...

Re: Swedish folk magic

In Swedish Folk Magic, a way of divination was Tydor. Tydor is when a specific thing happens, something else will come, for example: When a cuckoo lands on your fence, someone in the house will die. Here are some examples of Tydor about weddings: If two siblings get married on the same day, no one w...

Fjall1291: Thanks! The whole geographic/demographic, ethnic bonding aspect of nationalism is manipulation. Americans exist on their standard of "The Greatest Country In The World"... Based on what? Should an Ethiopian who has the things they want in life to be happy, feel envious because ...

Re: Swedish folk magic

I love moon magick. It is the most powerful. Norse spells and God prayers are the way to go with nightime magick. A very interesting thread! Thank you for sharing! I will keep checking for more! I am keen on Moon magic and Norse magic as well - still discovering my Path, but I know this all fits in...

Re: My altar in Sweden

So I'm curious, you mentioned that paganism isn't a super common thing in Sweden Sebjon, perhaps look harder, it may be more common than you think, albeit not as trendy nor sleek. I'm curious as to what magical things might be found in a simple Swedish garden, or a wood, or even a (seemingly) commo...
