Re: Björk - Frosti

I don't know that I would call myself a fan, but I *really* like "all is full of love" - it's a good reminder once in a while!

... I kinda want to see that song you linked played live with a bell choir. That would be *epic* (as many bell choirs are)

Re: Rising paganism

"Christian mythology" - I love it! I have had this conversation with my therapist a few times, though not with these exact words. He is naturally older than me, and was a *huuuuge* hippie back in his youth. Through his experience growing up, and just in seeing how psychology has changed in...

Re: Tourennatrix' journey

Thanks firebird! I certainly don't always feel strong, but coming up soon I'm going to need to tap into a lot of reserves that (on some days) I know are there. School starts up tomorrow, and in the next few weeks we're preparing to add a roommate to the house. Thinking now might be a good time to st...

Re: Tourennatrix' journey

On finding a home The other day I had... A bit of a meltdown. I was already stressed about life stuff, and having a very harrowing time with my roommate's puppy (adorable, but won't stop biting me, and a major source of stress overall in my current living environment). After an extended period of ti...

I recommend checking out Jessi Huntenberg on YouTube. She's got a number of really great videos that cover this topic very well!

Barker, I think I'll be able to get to that point after I've overcome the inertia of status quo ;)

Re: Magifying a mundane task?

SpiritTlaker, oo I like that. I was trying to think of ways to "color code" without over-complicating it. This might be simple enough but also get me to start thinking in terms of the elements a bit more :)

Re: Magifying a mundane task?

Silas, I like your suggestion! I don't like using "premade" spells, but finding elements (aspects) of other spells and cobbling them together to something that feels right. Strength and Willpower is exactly what I need!

Magifying a mundane task?

I've been wanting to begin eating better and working out regularly, but keep running into a road block. A huge part of the difficulty has been that I used to be really good at both things, so starting over from scratch (so I don't aggravate previous injuries) with everything on "easy mode"...

Re: How To Use a Cauldron

Fun fact: they used to think tomatoes we're poisonous, in part at least because they would get lead poisoning from cooking them in iron pots or eating them off pewter plates.

Re: Coming up pentacles

For sure the position of the card is the main thing, but I've heard about taking in "the bigger picture" and looking at the synergy of the spread as a whole. I think I took from it that the deck would be very grounding (earth element) and there was potential for prosperity (in one way or a...

Re: I Made My Runes, Now What?

If you enjoy book learning, I have a couple suggestions for you: Nordic Runes by Paul Rhys Mountfort is a great starting point. It gives easily digestible meanings of the runes for the context of divination, as well as some lore and background for each. This is the book I started with. Futhark: a ha...

Coming up pentacles

I have had a tarot deck for all of about 2 weeks now, and I've done a few spreads to dip my toes in the waters, and something has jumped out at me... I'm pulling So. Many. Pentacles. In my first spread, a deck interview, I got 5 of 6 cards as pentacles (I swear I shuffled fist. Lots.). Later, I did ...

Re: Which do You Prefer? Tarot Cards or Oracle Cards?

I am new-ish to feeling into divination. I started with runes because tarot seemed 'too contrived' from my perspective, and I didn't have a clue what Oracle cards even were. Now I have an Oracle deck and I found a tarot deck that has artwork that sings to me, but I definitely don't have the funds fo...

Re: Recommend good "witchy" music?

I go for more of a viking vibe with Heilung, Wardruna, Eivor, Sowulo, and Valravn... Good stuff! Some of it is dark and stormy, others are more mystical. Lots of powerful female voices. For more of a Celtic sound, you can seed a station with Loreena McKennit, can't go wrong there. Throw in some Arca...
