The Burning Candle

In the present time
The candle burns away
The flame will die
The memories will fade
The day will arrive
It will incinerate
The wax drips down
It falls on to the plate
The small puddle will illuminate
The room is lit from this small light
The darkness fades without a fight
Time burns away yet the flame endures
The morning comes and the eyes are sore
Mesmerized upon the flame
A sense of ease has come to reign
