The Blue and Green tears

Mutilation, rape, pollution
turn a blind eye as if that would make it go
A small percentage of us seek a solution

When i turn on the t.v all i hear is another person dead
Always something so inhumane
i knife to the stomach or a bullet to the head
All someones brother, child, or mother
There is no safe ground
no place one can feel safe to sleep sound

All the way across the world
an innocent child crying to sleep
Thinking of the last time she's had anything to eat
And here I just threw out half of meal

We walk around, we lie and cheat
We hurt ourselves and put forward to our own defeat
As our world, land, and people waste away
When i drift deep in thought i cry
If only we could look earth in the eyes
We could see the blue and green tears it cries
Dripping and wasting away like we do
because of us
Behold, our empty hour glass.
