Rise Again

An older one of mine, but one of my better early poems.

Down the flaming roads we ride
In the darkness we confide
The deepest truths our hearts desire
So we may step into the fire
Find ourselves where we belong
Yet in the end we move along
Falling down and into space
When memories will not erase
Trapped within a broken heart
Trying not to fall apart
All knowing is the fire with nothing you can hide
Onward into the the soul you ride
Once you are lost
Again you will find
All of those you've left behind
Know yourself and rise again
Once again you may stand
The flaming roads will never be your chains
You have the power
Rise again
