Dry or Fresh?

Post by Brujita13 »

3 more Neophyte questions:

1) Is it possible to use dry herbs if fresh herbs are unavailable?
2) Is it important for the herbs to be organic?
3) Are dried herbs any more or any less potent/effective than fresh herbs?
Thanks and Blessed Be

Hiya,

Well it depends what your doing with them but it is absolutely ok to use dried herbs. In fact sometimes even if I have fresh herbs I'll go for dried because I don't want to worry about the liquid in the fresh herb.

You can buy supermarket living herbs. To dry them cut them in the morning and hang them upside down.

I prefer home organically grown herbs if possible, they haven't been forced and fed with chemicals and I know they've been grown with tender loving care. I believe that makes them more potent.
My soul is awakened, my spirit is soaring. And carried aloft on the wings of the breeze. For above and around me the wild wind is roaring. Arousing to rapture the earth and the seas.
