Buying herbs on the internet...

Post by EmeraldRose »

Is it safe to buy sealed herbs on the internet whether it be a Wiccan supply shop or from eBay? Blessed be! )O(

Unless you intend to eat/drink them, yes. Anything you want to eat/drink, buy from a supermarket or a reputable, qualified herbalist.

If you intend to burn them, check they're not poisonous herbs beforehand and ensure plenty of good ventilation - but this is, of course, just good common sense.

I've had no problems with it. Just be careful where it comes from and be certain on the exact type of Sage you get. Some varieties have some "interesting" side effects.

You could also check out the spice sections of supermarkets (bring a book to cross-reference) and health food stores. Theres a health food store close to me that has a lot of organic essential oils, so be sure to check out these places, too, cause shipping can add a bit of money to the final cost. But I do like the places on ebay that have the 25 herb samplers and the 100 herb samplers.
