Hi there :

Like most things, there will be deviations on the pronouncing of these names, due to dialect etc etc.
You say tomayto I say tomarto!

These are how I pronounce them :D

Yule: yool
Imbolc: Imbolk
Beltain: belltayn
Lughnasad: loothnasar
Samhain: samain

Yeah, it is pretty difficult to get a handle on the correct dialect. I just kind of wing it too. It's funny, but if there's some name or word I just can't get, I ask my eight year old. She's pretty good at breaking it down to understand it, and most often, I think she's right. :28:

Alhandra - Samhain can be pronounced as sow ( like a female pig ) een.
That may be what you're thinking of.

I don't know, they all look fairly close to their spellings. The only one that throws me is Lughnasad.

There are always facts, the best most of us can do is try to continuously adjust our opinions to become closer to those facts. For that, there is Science and Philosophy. One to argue facts and one to argue opinions. The result: The big bang is some sort of sexual innuendo resulting from your subconscious.

Yep, Well I have always heard Samhain pronounced, Sow-ihn. But they are all obscure and celtic anyway I like to stick with what I understand and call them the solctices and equinoxes.
