Cleaning Question: Candle Wax

Post by Moon_Stone »

Ok, here's a new one... My Samhain practices resulted in a big, old "blop" of candle wax on my carpet... anyone know any clean-up secrets?

Thanks!

OH! I do! ^^ Scrap off the excess wax from your carpet, then use a POG cleaner which can be found at a hardware store, then after that since the POG cleaner leaves resdue....use Dry Cleaning liquid to get rid of it then rinse with warm water ^^ I hope this helps! *ish the cleaning master* XD

Thank you, Sleeping.... what is a POG cleaner, though? I'm not familiar with that one. (But I'll try it as soon as I find out what it is) :28:

Thanks again!

You know that stuff you put in your carpet cleaner...the big bulky vaccum, I dunno what that is called, that would be your POG cleaner and since it leaves a resdue, you can use another POG cleaner which is the Dry-Cleaner stuff ^^

Ok, so you mean the cleaner you get for a steam cleaner? (Like the "Rug Doctor"?)... If not, I'm pretty lost. :?

(I don't get out much). :28:

this is easier

scrape off all the wax you can

get a few brown paper grocery sacks and an iron

set the iron on low and put a piece of the brown paper over the wax

Iron the spot until the wax seeps through the paper

move to clean spot of paper

repeat until gone

be careful not to scorch the carpet(use the LOWEST setting that will melt the wax)

Ooh, thank you Apollonia! That does sound easier. I'll give that one a try first. (My poor carpet!) :28:
