Jaxie: Greetings!

Post by Jaxie »

Greetings EUTM Community,

My name is Jaxie; I'm a 27 year old female and a WI (USA) resident. I enjoy traveling, reading and nature. Although my interests often change faster than the seasons. (i.e. I won't bore you with the full list.)

I'm not sure where I fall in the world of magic/magik/magick. I suppose I would say I prescribe to some sort of "Folk Magic", or the mishmash of information passed down through the family (maternal lines). I also tend to create a mosaic of my beliefs- drawing from word-of-mouth, personal experiences, books and the likes. This picture seems to be ever-changing.

I'm very excited to be here and hope to be a positive contributor to the community. I'd love to hear any advice you may have regarding where to start on the forum or on any topics you find interesting that you'd like to share. I'm all ears. :wave:

For the time being, I think I'll take a jaunt on over to the Grimoire/BoS forum and see if I can't start a thread there for future use.

I look forward to meeting you all!

Welcome to the forum! :fairy:

I think establishing your own bos is a fine place to start. Study what you're drawn to. The rest will come in time.

Thank you for the warm welcome and the vote, TwilightDancer! I took a quick peek at your BoS. It's lovely. :D

Thank you so much! :fairy:

A lot of my practice is very personal for me. I don't share as much as I could. But I do plan to add more over time. It might just take me a while to get there. lol

Welcome here, Jaxie!
When I first joined the forum, I started with the 101 and the General questions forums, and also with the member's pictures (yeah, I can be a stalker sometimes)

Regarding your pole, all of them apply to me....but let's say socialising. I think that talking about the experiences and sharing knowledge all fine in the category of socialising for me. :flyingwitch:

@All
Thank you for the welcome and the vote!

@TwilightDancer
You're welcome :). I can understand why you wouldn't care to overshare, but what you have is very nicely done- I may borrow from it myself (credit given of course!)

@planewalker
Thank you! I'll check my PMs as soon as I am able.

@Bychan Wulf
Thanks for the advice :) . I'll start exploring in the forums you've suggested. Those both seem like a smart place to start.

Hello & welcome. Where to jump in? Hmmm...gee, start with what interests you, & wear out the search function on your most sought themes. I've been around the Forum about a year and still haven't read everything I want to.

Welcome. I like your avatar. I've found myself more and more involved with the Egyptians the last few years.

@SpiritTalker
Thank you for the advice! This place is huge! I've been around a few days now and I've been reading around. I haven't even started searching yet- thanks for the tip!

@smogie_michele
Thank you! I like your sig- "a yawn is a silent scream for coffee"- made me giggle

@SnowCat

Thank you :) I'm glad you like it. I've always loved the "ruta fortuna" or wheel of fortune. It always reminds me that life is cyclic. I'd love to hear more about what fascinates you about the Egyptians. I tried to start learning how to write with hieroglyphics. It's super fascinating! The Egyptians knew their stuff when it came to magic too. And they were so good at recording it! I wish I could speak to a priest (or priestess) from way back when.
