I was out this morning early and cut this from a neighbor's tree.....almost got caught in the process. I have admired this gorgeous tree for years now and in spite of inquiries, have not been able to find out what this is.
What I do know is that this tree ( and believe me, it is absolutely magnificent ) is that it is very rare here in Chile. I know it is hard to get in a plant store, much less trying to actually grow one. So, I ask you, does anyone know what this is????? I wish you could all see the actual tree but at least I got a good picture. Am hoping to start one with the cutting I got. Thoughts, please.

An edit inserted here.....I have been searching the Web for rare flowering trees and, for the life of me, cannot find this anywhere. I searched the web pages in Chile first and then just started Google searches. I have a feeling this tree is not even native to Chile.
