Don't fret! This post is specifically for anyone who is new to Lilith and doesn't know how to go about it. Let's start this very slowly.
The first thing you should do on this path is introduce yourself in a ritual to the goddess Lilith and invite her in your life. Do not worry about casting spells, circles, or making elaborate ceremonial rituals. This will be pretty basic.
You will need:
- Red or black candle. (White is a fine substitute.)
Incense; sandalwood, patchouli, or sage is good to start with.
A pic of Lilith or a statue. (You can use images from your phone!)
At night, light the candle and incense in front of the Lilith picture. Offer these things to them, state that they are for her. Hold the candle in your hand. Now it is time to do your introduction to Lilith through prayer.
The prayer:
Say this prayer as many times as you feel you need to on the first night. After that, you don't really have to use this prayer again. Unless you feel you have to. But it might be better to find other devotions or write your own.Goddess Lilith,
Lady of the Night!
Divine Lady Owl!
Immortal Queen!
Ruler of the winds!
She who was there since the beginning of time!
I answer the call you have given to me!
My name is ________ and I pledge myself to you, as a devotee!
Guide me on the nocturne path!
Teach me of the shadows that harm, and those which do not!
Lead me to think for myself and sustain my independence!
Beautiful Lady Lilith of the wilds,
I invite you into my life!
Ave Lilith! Ave Lilith! Ave Lilith!
The candle is your Lilith prayer candle. Do not let it burn down. Light it every time you feel like praying to Lilith, and blow it out when you're finished. It will last longer this way and (hopefully) not be a fire hazard.
It is completely optional to mark the candles with a marker or ascribe it with a knife the symbols of Lilith and/or her name. If you do not know symbols, there is a list of Lilith correspondences I have made.
Congratulations! You're now a Lilithian; a devotee of the Dark Mother!
