A Christmas Memory

Post by stormofwind »

I was quite young I was sick from school I wanted the hallmark Rodney Reindeer promotions
That Burger King had I just wanted them for Christmas..
It was raining that day.. really hard.. I remember.. this was in late 80's
They had the stain glass lamp shades.. that looked antique..
Those were better times for the holidays.. less stress..
This memory makes me smile as my mother was healthier and happier.

I remember those reindeer; I think my daughter still has hers...in a bag in our garage.

Lovely poem(?)
I remember Rodney Reindeer.
Some friends of ours had a Tiffany-style stained-glass lampshade. Then I was given one as a gift in my 20's but have long since gotten rid of it.

I started searching for that old lamp of mine (didn't find it) and ran across some of the most gorgeous, colorful lamps I've ever seen. They aren't Tiffany-style, but they're still incredible and very witchy. If you visit that Pinterest page and scroll down, you'll see LOTS of gorgeous lamps.

Those lamps are very cool!

I think that my favorite memory of Xmas is the Real (leaded) tinsel for the trees.
The crap they make these days doesn't hang right is never strait is super static and blows right off. Worthless. Not even really safer as it can conduct electricity.
For a sample of how it used to be, see the Monkees video Rio Chiu.
