I would like to live without technology "brainwashing the stereotype" to (re)discover a more virgin existence "creating the moment". Phone's for example, are just asking me how sexy my will is. TV's, how much of an idiot I want to call myself. Bugger that, it is about what only I can do...

I unwillingly concede that a cell phone is forced upon me. I have some idiot level Q's I hope someone can help me with.

3 years ago ATT sent me a phone in a box. Contents: phone, charging cord, battery (I assume).
Instructions say go to a dealer to put in the battery. That's annoying.

1. Can I make a call once it's charged or is there some set up needed?
2. Can I make a call on the phone while the battery is charging? (I can use my iPad while it's on charge)

I figured out how to plug it in; it lit up (that's good) & screen displayed "no battery".

3. Could I make a call without a battery while it's plugged in?
I'm sorry Spirit, you got me. I do not know the answers to your questions, except question #2 ...I believe you can make a call while its charging. Well, I've seen my daughter do it so I presume it is ok.
One thing I realized, even though I don't have a cell phone I kinda feel like a smoker who doesn't buy their own cigarettes. Everyone around me "smokes" so if I need to make a call I ask.
Maybe I should say hey, "can I bum a phone?" halfsm

Oh hooray - I got the blinkin' cell phone so I could call ATT & schedule a technician to fix my land line. They did a trouble shoot over the line & determined it's their equipment that failed so there's no charge to fix it. That was welcome news. I figured the bill for this would choke me.

To answer my Qs
1. There was set up needed by ATT to activate the phone & that's why I had to go to a service ctr
2. It's OK to use the cell phone while it's on charge
3. It won't work on plug-in without a battery

So ...awhile back when ma-in-law passed, daughter took it upon herself to put her dad and his mom's phone on her plan and give me the extra phone. I protested and made a pretty good stink. I did not appreciate her making this decision when she knows where I stand on this. She gave the phone to her uncle because it was supposed to be "easier" to navigate. Well he used it for a few months but his Parkinson's is getting much worse and they gave it back because hubs phone bliped out when we were on our camping trip and he needed a phone.
This seems all pretty confusing eh?
Now she wants to upgrade and replace the bliped out phone and grandmas old phone, with two new ones....and give me one...just to have....just in case...just to take on the road when I'm going back and forth so much now to My mom's house. Aaaaaaakkkkkk. NO... geeze.
I think I mentioned that in the flower shop I had to use one (for deliveries and yes it was a lot greater than trying to find a pay phone when the addresses were wrong) but I know myself, I am incapable of not using it while driving. Just give me a damn beer, this is getting ridiculous.
