What tarot decks do people have?

Post by Amazonite »

I have the Fantastical Tarot deck. Only just recently started doing these. My b/f got me into them. He has the Vampire Tarot (same make). Quite spooky because I wouldn't choose my deck until I was completely sure that I wanted them. I fancied the dragon ones but something held me back. When I picked the Fantastical ones, I just had to have them. It wasn't until they had been paid for that I had realised that they were by same person.

Hey there, I was just wondering what names of tarot decks people have?

I have a mini deck of Rider Waite, and a full size "The Authurian Tarot" By Anna Marie Ferguson. Really quite beautiful, but I've had them for ten years, and I just can't get a hold of them, they don't speak to me, which is a shame, because they are so insanely beautiful: and that's why I use the mini Rider deck. Now I am looking for another full size set, but haven't found one I HAD to have. Any suggestions?

I use the Medieval Scapini deck myself- beautiful imagery but a few of the cards are in an odd order- Justice is the VIII major arcana card and Force is XI- apparently that's an older style called "Tarot de Marseille" (the order of Force and Justice being what they are in this deck, I mean)... which isn't surprising but is a bit irritating when trying to learn more using different books (that seem to all be based on the Rider-Waite deck.) The art is absolutely gorgeous, a Middle Ages/Renaissance type, and yes, this was the deck that called to me & I just had to have as well. :28:

Boo, all I can suggest when trying to find the deck that calls out to you is to keep looking-- it's out there, you just haven't found it yet.

Hey Boo, this is the place that I use... Very useful, if unsure or wanting to compare different decks, site also has spreads and other useful information. Hope this helps you and other forum users. ::coolglasses::

Hey (i'm new to posting btw, even though i've been reading this forum for like 3 years or something :D )

i have recently got into the whole tarot thing, but all the tarot decks i picked up, i just didn't feel "connected" with them :?
also, a lot of decks were dark and gothic, and that just isn't me at all

the deck that i use now is the Art of Tarot deck, which i love. it's soft and pretty, unlike a lot of decks. I particularly like the back of the cards:

I have a couple others, i'm not sure what to do with anymore.
I want to get another deck, in case if I start doing readings more openly.

The main deck that I use is the Gilded Tarot. They are the most beautiful cards!

I use the Aquarian Tarot. It is in the Art Nouveau style with beautiful images. It was actually my third deck. I found them at a peddler's market for very cheap and it was obvious that they had never been used. I feel like they talk to me. For example, the first time I tried to use them, the reading basically told me that I want ready and that I should wait, the full moon was just a couple days later, so I waited till then and I have had perfect readings ever since. I love my cards ♥!

mine deck of cards are pretty basic, but i love them. got them from a pack with a book explaining the meaning of them all, got it since it was 15. i have been thinking of getting new ones, i quite like the egyptian style, but i rather get it when i'm more confident with my tarot reading.

I kind of collect decks lol but the deck i use mainly for readings for people and after ritual and for myself etc is the Druid Craft Tarot Deck... this deck is the best one i have ever come across and is so accurate and just resonates so perfectly with me.

Reading regular playing cards

Actually, I have pulled some pretty good reads using a regular playing card deck. Though nowadays there are several "gypsy tarot" decks available for sale, I believe at one point in time European gypsies regularly used plain old playing cards like the ones we have today.

The symbols in playing cards have deeper meanings than they might appear to have [which is another, entirely long post that I don't feel like typing out right now, hehehe].

But yeah, playing cards are very effective for doing reads.
