Too true. I just try to remind myself that they will either get a clue or go bother someone else. They annoy me about as much as some of this Visual Kei kids who do everything they can to try and make people think they're Japanese(even wanting to be called by Japanese names) though knowing actual nothing of Japanese culture outside of some popular music, anime, pocki and that they have kimonos, baka kisama... oh well.

ValentineHeart, did you ask her if she was mentally retarded or just have absolutely no social graces at all? You don't just ask people things like that. People in this country really need to be taught manners.

Don't be hatin' on Visual Kei. :is a huge fan of Gackt and Buck Tick: Well, you're referring to weeaboos so never mind. I love Japanese culture (OUTSIDE anime and manga - though I like them too - , and I certainly haven't deluded myself into thinking I'm Japanese), and I do have a few kimono...wait...oh shit....

Seriously, this lady ASKED you questions like that, Valentine? How stupid can you get? And to make things worse, that woman breeds. :shudders:

I'm a huge fan of visual kei and Gothic Lolita, but I'm not weeaboo either. Anyways...

Back on topic, I've never had anyone discriminate against me for my beliefs. Not since I moved to Montreal anyways.

I was into the Loligoth thing before all the mallgoths and weeaboos started messing with it....

You get discrimination all the time here in the South. I'm ashamed to say that I'm a Southern girl because there's still issues like that here; there's still racial, religious, and homosexual discrimination. I wish everyone would just stop being so damn high-and-mighty and self-righteous. It's not giving them favor with God (I HIGHLY, HIGHLY doubt that any deity could stand such people), and it certainly doesn't make them look good.

Been going Loli for over 6 years and counting. And I also love Visual Kei. I find nothing "yummier" than a pretty Asian boy in makeup.^_^

I grew up in a place like this and I never understood why people who call them so "God fearing" are so full of hate. God said to love your neighbor and not to judge, yet that's all they do. Makes absolutely no sense.

Mmmm.....Gackt....I think bishonen are sexy, just so you know. :D

They have the delusion that hating others will get them favor with God. It won't. I don't claim to know everything that God wants or does, but I can tell you that I'm pretty sure it tears him apart to see bigotry in His name.

Gackt is gorgeous, so is Miyavi. I also have always had a thing for the second guitarist of Phantasmagoria, Iori. Damn, it's a good thing I have a pretty Asian.^_^

Amen to that. You think they would get the basic of God's message, which is indiscriminate love, but I guess they get to deal with the consequences.

There are no good-looking guys in this town. At all. The guys that could be considered remotely attractive have the IQ of a snail. I have this weird thing about me - I'm one of the few girls left in the world that have standards above good-looking; intelligence is one of them (good-looking isn't mandatory, though it certainly helps). I'm apparently cursed to die an old maid.

Unfortunately people who are attractive think that they don't need anything other that and with the way this country is, in most ways it is. I'm very picky about my men. I have a whole list of what they must have and what would be nice if they did. Intelligence is must, as I have interests like astrophysics and quantum mechanics and they also have to be at least be half fluent in another language(want a bit of what I have to offer in other words). I joined a dating site and got super lucky; got a beautiful Chinese guy who's as smart as he is pretty with a great sense of humour and wit. Down side is he knows all about all of it and has what I like to refer to as "prince syndrome".

I think part of finding someone is knowing what you want and knowing what you will not take along with being happy with yourself. Really knowing what you want and not and just being happy with yourself is the best way to through life. Makes it a bit simpler and easier to deal with those who would try to cause you problems.

Well Pagan has a certain aura of negativity around it. It certainly doesn't get a whole lot of good press. Even the word Pagan originally had the negative meaning of "backwards country dweller". Wicca I think is closer to destigmatization then the word pagan is simply because it is a newer term.

I have tended to say words that generally sound more positive or have less stigma attached them or are unknowns. Like "Animist" or "Old Believer" (Though that term is also used by a sect of Russian Orthodox Christians).

I do know what I want. The trouble is finding someone that meets my apparently exceedingly high standards.

I kid you not, I had this attractive guy ask me out before, but I said no because he was such an ass. He said, "Do you know how many girls would kill to date me?" My reply? "Then go date one of them."

I need a guy who's intelligent, passionate about what he does, has a good, stable job, well-educated (as in, he has some sort of college degree - a high school diploma or GED does not cut it with me), is open-minded, loving, an an all around good guy who isn't a workaholic or self-absorbed, someone who actually cares about things other than food, beer, and porn, and someone who isn't intimidated by a strong-willed girl like me, someone who doesn't treat women as sex objects or slaves, but respects them as people. Rich and good-looking isn't necessary, but it most certainly helps - but I'm capable of making my own money.

Lily, that doesn't sound that high of expectations to me, but then again mine are pretty up there. I have a list, a very detailed list from political views, to children and how they should be raised to education and basic interests and looks, but like I said, I don't ask for anything I don't have to offer. It's all tit for tat in my opinion and if you have it to give then you have the right to ask for it in return. It's all about even exchange. I do think this:

is going to be your hardest obstacle though. Men are delicate creatures and a women who can stand there own and provided for themselves can be an issue and one of the reasons I have an ex-husband at 25.

I'm sure you'll find the one out there for you, it may just take some broader searching on your part.

Yeah, most of the guys I know have a hard time believing that I'm not a doormat. Me and Scarlett O' Hara would be long-lost twins if she were A) real and B) from the same time period I am. I feel sorry for the poor guy who thinks that he can make me his little woman (read: sex slave, chambermaid, personal chef, and baby factory) and that I'd go quietly, but then again, some people don't get the point until you napalm them.

I really don't care about a guy's religion or political views - I like debates. It'd be fun, and it'd be interesting to experience his beliefs firsthand in terms of religion. He just has to be cultured and educated, have a good job (lawyer or doctor is preferred, but if by the blizzard-in-hell chance that I come across a sexy Jrocker from Japan, I wouldn't say no).

But yeah, me being as stubborn as I am will be an issue; apparently guys have very fragile egos. As far as I know, men flirt with women like that, but they don't marry them.
