Your explanation is beneficial. I decided it is best not to risk my comments being misinterpreted as a suggestion to intrude into another's energy zone. That isn't what I had intended, yikes!, so I need to find a better way to express it.

Not allowing oneself to be sucked into the drama cycle is the main task, as you've demonstrated. The rest is froofroo.
