Everything Under the Moon

LOVE POTION #9
To be performed on the 9th day of the 9th month.
(But you can try it anytime - who knows?)

� 9 oz. sweet red wine
� 9 basil leaves
� 9 red rose petals
� 9 cloves
� 9 apple seeds
� 9 drops vanilla extract
� 9 drops strawberry juice
� 9 drops apple juice
� 1 ginseng root, cut into 9 equal pieces

By the light of 9 pink votive candles, put these nine ingrediants into a cauldron on the ninth hour of the ninth day of the ninth month of the year.
Stir the potion nine times with a wooden spoon, each time reciting the following:

LET THE ONE WHO DRINKS THIS WINE
SHOWER ME WITH LOVE DIVINE.
SWEET LOVE POTION NUMBER NINE
MAKE HIS/HER LOVE FOREVER MINE.

Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce the heat and let it simmer for nine minutes.
Remove the cauldron from the heat and allow the potion to cool off.
Blow nine times upon the potion, bless it in the names of nine love-goddesses, (see below) and then strain it through a cheesecloth into a clean container.
Cover and refrigerate it untill you are ready to serve it to the man or woman from whom you desire love and affection. (Do not allow anyone other than your beloved to look at,touch, or drink the love potion.)
The nine goddesses: Inanna, Ishtar, Astarte, Hathor, Nephthys, Aphrodite, Venus, Freya, Arianrhod.

Haha, I remember this one. I was so thrilled when I found out that it actually existed! I fully plan to make some this September. *cackles* Wonder who I should use it on....

Does this actually work?

Well, to be honest I'm not sure this is the GREATEST idea, because of the law of three. Everything you do will come back at you times three. Also, it's a REALLY bad idea to cast a love spell or give a love potion on a specific person. So basically you SHOULD NOT use this potion (or any love potion) if you want to be safe.

Though I do not agree with the manipulation of others through magick I have to argue both sides here. All of us have the right to use magick how we deem appropriate. We are the ones that have to accept responsibility for our actions. Also just because the Rule of 3 is part of Wiccan belief doesnt make it part of all beliefs nor does it make it true.

Id also like to point out some flaws in this spell. The ninth day of hte ninth month in the ninth hour I mean come on REALLY? thats taking the 9's a little far dont you think. I mean its cute on paper but in actuality if the 9th day and the 9th hour are ruled by saturn on that particular day chances are your spell isnt going to work. Also what about moon phase LOL what if your in a waning moon at this time. Then you got double the things working against you. This spell is not likely to work.

This is a binding spell.

What happens if the love turns possessive or abusive? Do you really want to be forever bound to someone who is not treating you the way you deserve to be, that is being treated in the way of true and unconditional love?

When love is true and unconditional there is no need for such spells.

It's my belief that the best and only love spells one should ever perform are upon oneself to find the inner bliss and self-love and to develop true compassion for and kindness towards others.

Cute... Though I dont drink wine so itd be powerless against me! (Muah ha ha?)

Still, itd be a fun potion to make, just for the sake of potionmaking... Though a waste for me to bother... I dont have anyone I want to force to love me. (Thought about it, but I decided that Id be unhappy if I manipulated the guy I like with magic)
