I would cleanse it first then ask it which way is yes and which way is no. Then you can start asking it questions either out loud or in your head.

Cleansing it first would be a good idea...many ways to accomplish that, quite simple to do a cleansing.

Hmm interested. I never cleansed mine. How do you do that?
I just blessed them and started using them.

How do you cleanse and what is the reason for cleansing?

Oh, I wouldn't cleanse it now...it might remove the blessing. Cleansing is more important when you don't plan on blessing it...I don't always cleanse things before blessing them...you may have cleansed the pendulum while blessing it. Sometimes I'll charge, bless, and cleanse something all during the same ritual.
