a little something about runes!

Hello everyone i guess this is the right place to post this.
i would like to post a new topic at the witchcraft school about runes and their meaning in divination. So i am asking everyone if you can please pm to me what you know about runes in simple words, since its for beginners to learn and i wouldnt want to confuse (runes can be quite confusing). And i wouldnt want to write something only with the things i know, i want to know the things others have to share as well..
