Do you keep the jar or can you throw it in a running body of water? Can you use nails instead of steel pins?
Spell to Overcome an Enemy
Two cuts are made on a lime, one horizontally and the other vertically, ensuring that one does not cut the lime in four pieces. In the middle of the lime one places a piece of parchment paper with the victim's name on it. The lime is then held closed with two long, steel pins, and placed in a new plain glass, together with some salt, vinegar, and ashes. The ashes and the salt are believed to destroy the enemy's attempts to cause trouble, while the lime and vinegar will sour his own affairs.

Re: Question about a Spell...Spell to overcome an enemy
Throwing a spell into flowing water like a river is generally used to pacify & neutralize conditions or cancel the spell. The same can be said for burying as both Water and Earth elements are passive energies.
To activate spells Air and Fire are preferred as they are active energies. Hang spells in a tree for Air or shred & disburse, and burn for Fire. Safely dispose of cooled ash.
