Sabbat Cakes (I think this is a Samhain recipe)

Post by Wishes »

These are cakes for Samhain (I think it works for basically any sabbat however)

The ingredients are as follows:

1 tbsp (15 ml) honey (optional)
2 1/2 cups of plain flour
1tsp (5 ml) baking powder
1/2 tsp (2.5 ml) salt
1 1/2 cups of oatmeal
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1 tbsp (15 ml) wine (optional)
A few drops of vanilla essence and a pinch of cinnamon.

Procedure:

Mix the dry ingredients together, then add the honey, wine, and enough water to make a dough. Roll out on a floured board and cut into crescent moon shapes with the rim of a cup. Place on a greased baking (cookie) tray and cook in a preheated oven at 350'F (180'C /gas mark 4) for 15 minutes , or just until they turn light brown.

This is not my recipe, although it seems a pretty decent one. I will have to look around at what others had modified. Also, if you would like to see the video I obtained this from find it here.

I just figured that a basic recipe would be nice for those Dial-Up users (=
