My Rivers Voice

My Rivers Voice

SH ----------- Listen to my calming rage.

To you I flow with ease and harmony
as though I’m in control
Gliding over all that’s in my path
without ever losing my soul.

My raging song relaxes you
and you seem so content
As you listen to the snapping, crackling, gentle roar
of my calming effects.

Pure is how you see me
crisp, clean, and cold.
But come a little closer
and see how the new makes old.

Flowing with cool fever
and inconsistent in my way
Totally free and wild
for today.
I move over and under or around
whatever is in my space
Taking pieces of it with me
in a most destructive case.
I wear and tear as I crash and splash
to make the music you love to hear
To me it’s a constant noise ringing in my ear.

I’m cold enough to burn you
If only you could see
The bittersweet calming rage
hidden in the shallow depths within me.
