Summoning the spirit of my dog?

Hello

This may sound a little strange, but...

My dog died in late 2008. Her grave is in the backyard, and I really want to see her again. I have seen spirits before, so I don't know why I am unable to see her. Is there anyway to summon her spirit, or to see her again?

I think the best time to do this is at Samhain, assuming you are going to cast a circle and do a ritual on the night, if so, invite her to join you.
Pets often return to you in their own way, to say things are just fine.
