ex-Witch Stories-is This Why?

Many of the ex-Witch stories Ive read (the credible ones anyway) seem to talk about turning to Witchcraft for power, and then seem to word it as if ALL practicioners of The Craft are in it for power. I feel like the reason for this unhappiness is because they came seeking power- like a teenager seeking attention- and ultimatly came out dissapointed. Many practiconers come seeking Spiritual Fufillment, some others come because they are drawn to it. Most stories ive read go along the lines of Power somehow. Do you guys think that this is the reason they are so unhappy?

The ones, who really come to the craft, do it because it just feels right and find happiness. Those who play with the craft do it for power and leave unfulfilled. Their thirst for control is not found; it is a teenage need to try to take back what their parents, teachers, friends, god, or whoever, take away from them.
