Return Of A Distant Memory

Post by roseonfire »

I wrote this awhile back after a particularly harsh winter.

Oh blissful joy,
The bird's song of serenity sings.
A memory so distant has now returned.

Fresh scents fill the air,
Our longing is no more.
Locked inside, searching for the day,
At last the time has come.

The day of freedom is near at hand.
Our souls end their slumber,
Awaking with energy anew.

Nature's beauty has returned,
Its head is peaking through.
I close my eyes in the warmth of the sun,
Still I know it remains.

No longer a dream,
Yet that is how it may seem.
A swath of green resumes its rightful place,
A sight that snow could not replace.

The key to childhood memories is in our hands,
You have but to open the door.
It's time to relax within the water,
The time for worries is no more.

The flowers start to bloom,
How I've hoped this sight would be soon.
Oh blissful joy,
Spring has returned.
The Goddess is like the moon itself, guiding us in our darkest moments.
