Ring of Eternal Flame

Bubblegum rainbows trembled
Uncurling into a flying butterfly:
Glistening crystal fragments
Crushed into the creases of
The swirling mist, its here:
A dancer, twirls into sight
Stars glistening in his eyes
Mirroring the raindrops of mirth
Lingering there, but now…
Forgotten

Ah, but the truth is complex
Even in its simplicity
Why he is here, I know not
Why I’m here, I know not
But the flaming passion
Keeps me going, every day
As the veil of happiness
Parts, allowing me through
And those starry eyed pearl drops
Of sadness, still shine
As the goddess smiles over us
So, the dance commences.

And I find I’m trying
To untangle myself
From the highlighted mist
His highlighted mist
That encourages me
To dance Temptation’s rumba
Trying to quench the music
Resounding from Passion’s lyre
For it’s this illusion that writers
Hyperbolise of a sultry passion
That is visible, crystallised
In stone

That passion is cultured
Into Love, that anchors
Us and calls us home – for in
This reality, the rose
Beholds the Love that
Sets our hearts aflame, so
That feeling is not just a feeling
The essence of a name,
Love is the whisper that holds
All the keys and chains us
Each together, each one
To his own

And its this Love that the rose;
She captures, through her
Unfurling petals, swirling
Beneath the surface
Bubbling with happiness
She surrenders to my kiss
And now the Love we share
Is set in stone – that I’ll always
Remember – through this
Ring of eternity, this crystal
Smiling back at me, secretly
For we both know, the Love
The rose and I share will be here
Forevermore

…..and that passion has (finally)
Been tamed
