Growth/fertilizer potion for tomato plants

Post by Elluir »

Problem:
I bought two heirloom tomato plants. They aren't doing as well as I like, additionally I'd like the plants infused with energy to produce fantastic tasting and mildly wondrous fruit. Also, I have a black thumb. I can keep animals alive no prob. I have a well-behaved incredibly healthy standard poodle named Wilhelmina to prove it.

What I've done so far:
Used quality garden soil, research on watering and sun needs and location. Additionally some research on compost/compost tea.

What I need help with:
Magical components for a compost tea potion. I'm working on the contents for actually plant growth/benefit so i think I have that covered. I was however looking for guidance for and herb suggestions to add for magical growth. Additionally I was thinking of this concept "http://everythingunderthemoon.net/forum ... 27080.html" (neat!) to add to the potion. Any suggestions for runes, rune combos? Other suggestions for components?

Thanks for the help!

I haven't worked in my yard in a LONG time, but I really want to get out there and get my container garden put together. I've been planning one, and it'll be great to get it started. I'm sure it will be tremendously helpful in getting me back on my feet.

I don't have any suggestion about the runes but you may include a few hay bales as your "conditioned compost" for your plants.

Here is a link to some free info regarding straw bale gardening:

I know its abit late, but this year id suggest making Nettle feed and Comfrey feed.mone promotes leaf and green development while the other promotes fruits/veg growth.
Also this should of been in the "all things earthy" part of the forum!

Nettle feed

Comfrey feed

Super easy to make, super results when used!

From what I know, ashes have a nice fertilizing effect, they have a high percentage of K and also raise the soil pH (reducing acidity) but it needs to be used carefully.

Take a look:

Once you grow tomatoes and the season gets late, if you want to hasten ripening of fruits before first frost, give a cup of apple juice to each plant. That tips is from Jerry Baker, master gardener.
