Wire Wrapping
Wire Wrapping
Hello!
I want to re-wrap my turquoise. Do any of you have wire wrapping tutorial recommendations? I've done some google searching and I can find really simple beginner tutorials and complicated advanced tutorials, but I can't seem to find anything in between. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Re: Wire Wrapping
Hmm what does your turquoise look like? Kind of depends on the shape of the stone, whether it has a hole for beading, etc.

It's natural turquoise so it doesn't have a hole for beading. It's shaped like Africa and about a half inch thick.

Re: Wire Wrapping
How about this tutorial for wire wrapping? Seems like a pretty versatile and simple method ...

Thank you! I like that tutorial a lot and Pinterest has led me down a rabbit hole of tutorials.
Re: Wire Wrapping
Thanks, Xiao! I tried some of the more organic wrapping methods and the turquoise looks so much better.

Thank you very much! ^________^ I love your work, so it's lovely to hear that. <3

That does look nice! I tried to wire wrap my stones and i'm terrible lol! I tried to follow youtube tutorials but they still never looked that great.

I've looked at quite a few written and video tutorials and for now I've just decided to go the organic route, it's much easier to begin with!River SilverWolf wrote:That does look nice! Aderyn, it looks great! So you end up not following any particular tutorial to come up with this design?
Re: Wire Wrapping
Thank you! ^___^ I did look at a few tutorials, but I didn't quite see anything for this odd shaped stone. So, I just took some wire and started wrapping. It took a few tries to get something I liked, but I took the organic approach and wrapped until I was happy.

Your efforts paid off! Haha!
I'm suddenly reminded of my experience when I first experiment with photoshop (because of school), I don't even know what I was doing. I was playing around with the programme - with pictures of a celebrity and the end result came out quite nice! Lol. But after that time, my 'art pieces' went downhill.
