Why Asatru?

This inspired discussion is about, among other things, family and spirituality and the role that men have played in those worlds. Daniel mentions the oft-spoken sayings, "We are ancestors in training, we are our deeds [i.e., we don't just do them, we are remembered for them]." Modern Western culture with its short-attention-span emphasis on the temporal makes it easy for us to feel like we are individuals with no background, no history, no depth...just consumers that are "here today, and gone tomorrow."

That simply is not the case, and to have a sense of place & being, unfortunately you're not going to find it readily available and reflected in the microwave society around you; you'll have to dig for it, study, go deeper, ask questions, seek answers, and above all, learn to value yourself for the divine being you already are. For these men, Asatru was the path to awareness and understanding; for you, it may be a different path. Regardless, I posted this in hopes of inspiring viewers to seek similar passion and profound inner joy in their own spiritual paths (if they haven't felt those already), as these men seem to be expressing in their panel conversation.
