Strega Witchcraft

Post by Alhandra »

Ok so iv studied faerie, romany and egyptian magick and now im going to study Strega. Has anyone here studied Strega or even better anyone who follows the Strega path? I have found some good websites that help but does anyone know any good books about the subject. I know Raven Grimassi has done a few but others have said hes made a lot of the stuff up. Any info would be great. Thanks.

I took a quiz online... it's like path selectors or something like that. It doesn't tell you what you should be, just tells you what specific denominations fit the beleifs you have.

My two top answers were Strega and Fellowship of Isis. I looked a bit into Strega, and from what I gathered in the description, it's like an Italian version of wicca.

"Aradia: Gospel of the Witches" is probably the best source for Stregheria since it's considered the holy book of the Strega.

Strega means 'witch' in Italian. 'Strege' means 'witches'. I myself am of Italian/Spanish descent, and this is all I know about it. I do know that when my mother was a little girl she broke her arm and was taken to a 'strega', an old woman on the island where she lived, and the woman set her arm. I believe an egg was used to dip the bandage in before it was applied to the arm. I don't know if the old woman practiced magic, but she was a local healer.
