White Sage & Birch

I have discovered that an excellent way to clear negative energy out of your sacred space is to burn a 50/50 mixture of crushed white sage and silver birch leaves on a charcoal disc. Be careful not to burn too much, as the smoke can become quite overpowering, especially in enclosed areas.

Birch is a wonderful purifier. For those sensitive to smoke, you can dip a small bundle of birch twigs into a bowl of blessed water, and sprinkle it around the area, or onto a person, animal, or object.

Birch is also a strong protecter. I collected some bark from.fallen trees and use it in sachets, bottles and other spells.
