Those fancy cast steel blades can be extremely expensive. Renesance fairs are good places to go to find well crafted, hand made blades. They're just as expensive as machine produced blades but they have a soul. If a blade will be used to defend against or command unruly spirits, iron is better than steel because the magnetic properties in iron disrupts their ability to manifest. If an iron blade can't be found then spend some time magnetizing the steel blade with a magnet.

You'd need to make a sheath for it if it doesn't come with one. You can't very well walk around with one stuck through a belt loop without risking injury. Even if its not sharp it has a point. And the two-edged blades sure as heck can't be carried in public.

Sporting goods stores carry single edged & folding blades of every description for hunting & fishing & it is even possible to find a two headed dragon tooled in the handle for under $10 on Amazon. A folding blade is safer for specimen hunting field trips in the parks & alley & defending against crazed spiders.
