My hiking experiences

I don't really "travel", I prefer to stay put. But my area has a lot of really nice places for hiking and sight-seeing. So far I've been to Highbridge (which is my county's water reservoir; once we saw an Apache flying really low over the lake area and it was awesome), Jim Thorpe in the Poconos, Bushkill Falls, the Cornwall Quarry (we call it The Pit), places like that. They've been really nice. Here are some pictures from some of my adventures.

One cool thing about one of our adventures that nearly made me crap my pants and lose my mind was the last time we were at Highbridge. We were going along a trail, going about our happy business, and came across a wild black bear. She didn't look at us, but I know she heard and smelled us. This bear had to have been at most 50 feet away from us. She probably had just woken up from hibernation and was foraging for food. We walked a good amount of space away from her quietly, and then ran to the entrance of the trails. Scariest thing ever, but she was so beautiful.

I actually went to that particular area (that was Jim Thorpe in the Poconos) in late March. It was FREEZING  But so worth it. I seem to have lost my other photos of that day, unfortunately. I took a lot of great pictures on that trip.
