Beltane Cocktail

Post by smogie_michele »

I'm a server/bartender, so one of my favorite things to do in my off time is to "wow" my friends with awesome food and drinks, especially for holidays. Because Beltane is coming up, I came up with a wonderful, summery cocktail that blew my mind upon first sip... seriously, I had to sit in silence for a moment and think to myself "damn... I'm good."
I posted about it in my pagan related wordpress, but figured I would also share it here. however, If you want to see the original post in full: https://witchyd.wordpress.com/

So if you are of age, here is what you need and how to do it:
**if you are under the legal drinking age, I have some substitutes for an equally delicious drink!

-One bottle of St. Germain
-One bottle of your favorite champagne
-1/2 cup sugar
-handful of fresh rose petals, rinsed
-handful of fresh lavender, rinsed
-2 cups diced strawberries
-2 lemons, just into wedges

1. In a tea pitcher, toss in your flowers and fruits and sugar.
2. Add the entire bottle of St. Germain, stir it well and allow it to sit in the fridge over night.
3. When you are ready to serve, fill your glasses with ice. Fill the glasses half way with the St. Germain mix, topping the rest of it off with your champagne.
4. Drink up and enjoy!

For the non alcoholic version, I used welches white grape juice in place of the St. Germain and Fresca in place of the champagne... of course, sparkling grape juice could also work pretty well for that!

If you make it, please tell me how you like it!
My friends loved it too, so we will just have to make more on Beltane.

We totally approve of this action! My partner and I were trying to think of something to do when we got paid and didn't have work the NEXT day. I will slur how it all goes. :surprisedwitch:

I was going to make this for Litha as well, but we opted for a glass of sweet tea instead. It really is delicious and the drink itself is pretty to look at!
