And looking for a teacher?

Post by hawkflower »

I and my family are moving to Oregon over this summer and I wanted to know how to find a teacher to lead me through the year and a day journey. I was looking at covens in my area, and while some are family friendly, I feel that for my year and a day I might be more comfortable with a single teacher.

I was wondering if any other wiccans had any advice as to whether you think it is a good idea to rather pay for group classes, or if and how to look for a singular teacher.

To give my reason as to why I would like a singular teacher, it is that I would like a one on one experience where I can go at my own pace (whether fast or slow) and really connect with my teacher. I feel that while yes I would meet more wiccans, and learn more views and styles of teaching through the group lesson, I don't know if I necessarily want another school classroom setting with tons of people on top of high school?

(I am sorry for the repeated parts and long text) Thank you for reading! I hope you can help! :)

I'm too much of a newbie to be a teacher but I found this online. It has a schedule of what to focus on every week. It is on Facebook so if you have a FB page you could probably join the group? Not sure, I deleted mine so I didn't have the option.

You might also want to try looking on Meetup for wiccans in your new area. And/or go to the closest metaphysical shop.

Hope this helps! Good luck on your journey!
