Candle burning meanings?

Post by purplelly »

What does it mean if candle had a little black smoot at the top. Burned feveriously. (Which I take as a good sign it was burning) But stopped with about an inch left of wax at the bottom. It was 7-day glass candle, used for court.

A fast burn is typically a very good sign, however, it can often mean that the magic will not last long; it is a quick fix that will fizzle out fast. Black soot typically signifies that the magic is having a hard time working, and unburned wax at the bottom of the glass is a classic sign of "unfinished business." I would definitely back up your work with another candle or two or three.
