Oh yeah. Plenty of times. I don't usually use my nahualli for that. I tend to use them to flee or go into stealth mode. (Pick and choose your battles.) I have my own magical system I use if I have to fight or do something destructive. But these are rare occasions now.
I am the Earth, The Sun and the Stars
And I am the also the Moon
I am all animal and birds,
And I am the outcast as well, and the thief
I am the low person of dreadful deeds,
And the great person of excellent deeds
I am Female. I am Male and I am Neuter.

tutmosis I'd encourage you to keep going and perhaps seek out trainig.

I did a year long course (took me two years), but really pushed through many spiritual barriers. Now even though I am following a traditional witchcraft approach, everything I do is shamanic and animistic.

Just be aware that no one will understand except other practitioners. So I've found it profitable to actually not share that much about my experiences. People aren't able to understand them anyways.

My dilemma is that I have no clue where I would start to seek formal training! I suppose Ra could train me, but it would be nice to have some physical person train me

I am untrained. I used academia and my own field research. Much of shamanism, if not a majority, is getting a feel for things and using your brain to piece together everything. It is extremely difficult to find proper training, especially outside your own ethnic group. It's also a fairly rare practice nowadays.

I do agree though, under normal circumstances and with regular people it is best to keep silent. Most people are completely unaware of the unseen world.

I'm not vocal about my current situation anyway. It's nothing to keep quiet about it. As far as fighting demons goes, I don't need recognition. I can do that in obscurity.

I would suggest whatever physical teacher you can find to get a start. Then, the spirits teach you. Whether the spirit is walking around in a meat suit or in the spirit world they can teach you.

This is part of the quest, you have to make that effort to get started. The effort to get started is an energetic sacrifice.

I would need to find someone to teach me about this for free because I wouldn't have the money to pay them, and that drastically reduces my options lol.

Right now all I can do is meditate on it and try to manifest a good teacher.
