I Want To Add Pictures From My Computer To A Creative Forum

Post by Shawn Blackwolf »

So I want to show my carving...

Have pictures in files , individually labeled...

I have posted them on other websites...

I have used one as an avatar...

Now , I have clicked image button , here...

Got [img][img]

Tried to insert picture between...no go...

Used URL button...was able to link to my image on another site ,
but it did not show as picture just link to picture...hmmm...

I really just want to upload about 10 , or so pictures from my computer files...

Who can make it ***extremely*** simple for me ?

THANKS !

Hi, I know it's difficult to post pics here, it took me a while to get it, too.
Since you want to post a lot of pictures, I suggest you create an album in your Google Photos account and post a link here. This forum has a limit on image size and it is often a struggle to post a single picture, because it's too large and needs to be edited etc.

Hmmm...

Thanks for answering , moonraingirl...

Maybe I can't post here...

I do not have , nor want a google account ,
other than gmail...

I am one of those old school primitives...;)

No google groups , or accounts , no photo sites ,
no Facebook , no Twitter , no Skype , no cell phone ( ever ) ,
never played a video game ( other than pong in 1970's ) ,
no car...( purposefully )...never used bluetooth , do not
even really understand what it is , never had an i pod ,
i pad , still have a VCR ( now with DVD player ) , still
have a Walkman , yeah , I am a dinosaur...

( oh yeah , almost forgot...*never* chatted...never never never )

( and I type with one finger , never learned how to type )

And happy being one...less complex...less stress...

So...oh well , sorry folks...can't share my photos , carving and otherwise...

And obviously no avatar...a blank me...that is all I get...lol...;)

I totally understand, I didn't have a smartphone until a year ago. Never used blootooth and don't have a car, either :-)

There are other services than Google for sharing pictures. A quick search will give you options.
Or, you can chose the best picture and upload it to the forum.
Go to advanced /full mode of posting. There is an option "attachment". Click there and use browsing button to choose your picture. After that, click "add". I'm sorry I'm on my phone now and can't see what it looks like in the browser so I have to rely on my poor memory :-)

If you see an error message, your file is probably too large and you will have to edit it in a Windows program (I haven't used Windows for 3 years now since I use Linux, so again, don't know which program exactly).

There are also websites that can resize your pictures and you don't have to create an account.

In order to add an image as an [img] you have to download the image on your computer, upload it on an online resizing program (I use http://www.picresize.com an you don't have to register.) Browse, add the photo you want, continue, set format to JPG or PNG (JPG works better), set "max filesize" to 255 (the max accepted on the forum is 256, but just to be sure), click resize and save it on your computer.
Open a new thread, or comment section, hit full editor if it isn't what you already have open, and at the bottom of the box, under "save draft" "preview" and "submit" , click "upload attachment", browse and add the file which you can place in-line. Then, submit after you wrote your description (optional) and whatever you want to write.

If you want to add an image with , you must place the url between the 2 and if the image is larger than 256 mp, then it either won't let you submit or display a link.

One thing I noted is that the BBCode for images is [img]URLHERE.com[/img] -- there's a slash in the last code. If you use the Full Editor mode, you can click the IMG button and it'll supply that code directly.

I only read the part about your avatar now. It works by the same principle with 255 mp. :-)
And I truly respect you decision regarding cell phones, video games and (especially)cars!
