Wolf and Magpie's Altar

Post by MamaMagpie »

The Sax, wand, and meditation beads are all hand made by me, including the blade itself.

Very nice...and good work...;)

( Did you see my carving thread in "Artwork" ? )

I carved a water buffalo horn from the Phiillipines ,
will post that in that thread later today...want to
line it next...

Your wand ...yes

Hagalaz
Nauthiz
Isa
Jera
Eihwaz
Pethro
Algiz
Sowelo

I believe that is correct , as I "sing" them...

My Tradition would use that wand for a "Fire" wand , or "Light" ,
including "Illumination" , and "Deep Occult Initiation"...

Yet , of course there is protection , phase shifting , and marriage heaven - earth ,
and a bridging between realities , from a stillpoint , and individual perspective...

As well , to set in motion , a vortex , of wind , light , storm , and effect change...

Nice...and is that yew wood ?

Or some other ?

( I have a yew wand , myself )

And I do note the Tir , or as we call it Sdar rune , formed by
the stones on the altar...and know it's meaning...;)

Are those quartz based stones ?

Or chalk ?

( not clear enough for me to tell )

Again , nice...well done , with knife , which has
an Uruz shaped blade , though I can not make out
the inscription...:)

Forgot to mention...saw our ocean ancestor honored...

The Tribolite...;)

I have seen your carving done, they are beautiful. What tools do you use to etch into the bone like that?

The wand has the entire Futhark carved into it, only that aett is visable though. As for the wood, I wish I knew. It came from my back yard which has many trees and sometimes its hard to keep track of them.

The handle of the sax though is Crepe Myrtle, I know for sure. The inscription is my surname, Gibbs. With my first name on the other side.

and before anyone asks about the stain used...probably best you don't.

The stones are primarily quartz based, as I tend to pluck them from the ground wherever I find them just because have always liked them. It was my wifes idea to arrange them like that on the altar, which I really liked :)

And yes, it just felt right to include my trilobite.

I use a dremel with ball burr bits , in a few sizes...

To "shape" the antler , sometimes , a Japanese "Shinto"
small hand file...I ***highly*** recommend you get one
if you do not have one...antler , horn , bone ,wood ,
most metals , goes through like butter...

Relatively inexpensive...about 35 - 40 dollars , including
shipping...it lasts for many , many years...

Thanks for telling me about all 24 runes inscribed...I understand...

The stain...I already know...I have runes , remember ? ...lol...;)

Tell Magpie that was a great idea , and it sets order , new direction , guide...and more...

I know you know...

I have an Ammonite on my altar...our ancient ancestors they are...

And the designs are incredible , and show warrior spirit , as well...

The reason I use Ammonite , is the Phi Spiral , as well...

Thank you for your compliment on my work...

I shall let you know , when I post the drinking horn...

Best !
