Hello all! Any advice for a newbie?

Post by GKB91 »

So I’ll get right to it! I’m a 28 year old female, and honestly for most of my life I’ve felt deeply drawn to Wicca/Paganism, the power of the nature, balance, and spirituality. As a religious practice, it just feels right to me. I’ve read many books, however I won’t claim that I know EXACTLY what I’m doing. As I said, I feel drawn to both Wicca and paganism. However, what are the differences between the two? Is it possible to believe in both? Or is it either one or the other?

I would love to hear about all your own personal experiences. How you practise, how you incorporate it in daily life, ect as a guide for me to start my journey! Thank you all :)

Hi & welcome.
I've been exploring the Craft 30-some years &'cant say I know "exactly" what I'm doing either
We all have the Universe's permission to believe anything we can get our heads around so go easy on yourself. There's a few discussions on pagan/Wiccan definitions that may help:

Browse around to see what's out there already, add-on whenever you like and feel free to start topics in their related areas with any questions or comments you've got.

General NewB advice - ask specific Qs, follow what interests you, go slow & laugh often.

Wicca and Witchcraft subscribe to most tenants of Paganism. The core of these paths is freedom to "do as ye will and ye harm none" there is no right or wrong way to practice these arcane traditions as long as noble etiquette is followed. Enjoy standing in sacred space, opening a portal between worlds and standing with one foot on earth and the other in the heavens reaching for the stars and cavorting with Gods.
Truth and Reality are highly guarded secrets. Nothing is as it appears. "The ONENESS sleeps in the stone, breathes in the plant, dreams in the animal and awakens in man" (Indian proverb)

I don't know "exactly" what I am doing with magic either. I suppose in Wicca and Paganism one would generally see the "work" as internally driven and not just externally derived. Balancing internal/external, though... Some of your own, some of the "tradition" - synthesis.
