The sound of a voice

Post by Firebird »

It's been 16 years now since my dad left the planet. I could still hear his wisdom in my head, but as I was driving to the cemetery yesterday to place some california poppies on his grave in commemoration of the date he crossed over, I realized I could not remember his voice. That struck me pretty hard, I tried to remember... and I could remember him calling me snicklefritz, but not in his voice. I burst into tears, RATS how can this be? I have no recordings of him, and now I am really bummed that this has happened.
Does this happen to everyone? Or am I just the weird one out?

I think it's fairly common. I've lost people too and can no longer recall the sound of their voice. :(
My condolences, FB.

Hey TwilightDancer! sooo good to see you :) miss you dear how are you?
Thanks, it's not something I ever really thought of, or considered would happen, like I can still see his face, but of course I have photos to help with that. Because he was pretty stern when he scolded me, I didn't think I would ever forget that, lol, but alas it's gone.
I'll have to see about the dreamtime, maybe I can hear him there.
I had this dream once he was talking to my bio dad, and they were getting along famously which I thought my dad would slam bio dad for what he did to bio mom, but maybe the afterlife is more forgiving and the energy isn't one that is attached to human emotions.
