EU country I live in not allowed to pick greenery for personal use alas.
I did bring a tiny crooked Holly sapling tree home many years ago it grow too near a big tree, last year had berries it is 80 cm tall now 2 stem. Pick small branch
of 5 leaves last week when I went to look if it has berries.

Perhaps you can get some greens from the tree lot, sometimes they give it away. Or maybe some one is doing trimming on their property and would be willing to give it away rather than throwing it in the bin.
