No not at all...on the contrary.
It's a time for quiet reflection and gathering my thoughts.

But...I am scared of telephones, horses and popping corks.

telephones???? How does that work for you then???

I'm not really scared of anything. What is it?? 'the only fear is fear itself' or something???

I won't answer a phone unless I know who it is and even then sometimes I don't.
It's more of a mental condition than a phobia.
A LOT of fears are irrational.

Ahhhhhhh.....MR, do you even know what a dark moon is (or should I say isn't)

It's that time of the month when you can't see any moon at all.

Specifically a period of 1 - 3 days when the allignment of the moon, earth and sun are such that the moon is not eluminated.
It has been suggested that it is has been associated with a monthly view of Samhain (and a womans cycle)

Should it occur twice in one month, the second is called a Black Moon (next to happen Aug 30 2008) and is thought to be a time of heightened physic energy and a time when our dark side is emphizised.

However for that to work you need to believe the moon is more than a large rock in orbit around the earth reflicting sun light.

I should add, there is also a therory out there that a second moon exists with a diameter of about 9 feet and orbits the earth in about 3.5 hours.
This has been refered to as the dark moon. In the early 1900's it was named Lilith. Yet to find some good science to support it's existance.

In celtic traditions an auspicious time for death as it would guarantee rebirth with the next new moon.
It would have been an event of great celibration

So if your great grandmother died on a full moon, you'd be afraid of full moons?

Or if your great grandmother died on a Tuesday, you'd be afraid of Tuesdays?

Or if your great grandmother died in the spring, you'd be afraid of spring?

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar...everyone dies at some point. For most Craft practitioner, death isn't something that is feared, because it is simply a transition (one of many that will occur throughout our existence).
